Bought one on ebay, grommets fell out before I opened the box, the instructions had typos and spaces, eg t alk show. alluminium base not brass and plastic thumb turns, wire was too long and the switches didn't make a difference. The seller was adament it's real, I thought I was buying a used one for £100 but a new unopened box arrived, i've used the mic long enough to know it feels wrong. The one I got was a great knockoff but becuase i've used the mic for years I knew just by holding it. Also my wiring was all wrong and it uses a thicker gauge cable and was clipping while recording in 32bit float while talking with a slightly loud voice, not even shouting. The foam was not the right shape and was much thinner than the original. While my knowckoff dowsn't sound as bad as yours and the box doesn't have the hyphen between delivers-warm. But the thing that annoys me the most is the capping.

Finger picking and palm muting is a great way to get tendonitis by just doing the most crippling and unnatural movements you could do with your picking hand. If you have multiple songs in a night that requires this sound, palm muting would be absolute idiocy. No need to make stuff extra hard on yourself. Especially considering that if you had a lot of money you'd just buy a second guitar with a rubber bridge... Sounding good is the point. Not orthodoxy and elitism.

Tried it and was instantly amazed. Also it helps using reaper if you don't have a dual mono 1176, because you can just route individual channels to two instances.

Never heard guitar on this that sounds justified, always sounds like broken reverb to me.

I have the Aston shock mount which uses a spring loaded mount mechanism for a round microphone body. I would expect it would work well with this mic. Considering buying the TLM-102 as my Aston Origin is busted 😢

In all fairness, while both sound similair, the racket thing sounds somewhat brighter, and i only knew it was the racket add on recording was because the highest string did sound like plucking a racket…

It's an instrument. As long as it sounds good you're using it right. That's the only requirement to using any instrument

I do think you are overlooking palm muting a bit. I wouldn’t compare it with palm muting. It has its own sound. Practice palm muting with different areas of the hand. Some people prefer the edge of their palm, some people use where the palm meets the wrist, some people use the pinky finger knuckle area etc. If you just incorporate a bit of left and right hand muting into your practice it will help open doors for your sound just like how experimenting with different muting materials can! I think instead of searching for muted sounds, why not something more exotic? So many interesting things! Like things that cause buzzing sounds like Jawari stuff, (sitar, veena) or Jon gomm style using a pick against the bridge to make it sound like metal pots and pans. I just wouldn’t start the argument “is it better than palm muting” because they’re not the same and there’s a whole lot of different sounds to be heard from different muting techniques. And the guitar teachers will get all upset and tell you to practice more. (Yes I’m sorry. I’m guilty lol) Cool stuff man!

You're not as smart as you think you are. Does it not occur to you that labels invest in artists to a great degree because they have something called fans. If marketing dollars alone could make millions of people connect emotionally to your music, the labels would have the market capitalization of Apple and they'd make it happen twice a week. They don't, and they can't. In the digital age even the labels are somewhat bewildered as to who is going to hit big next.

i got a se electroics v2 and used eq for it, and it sound amazin. yes i know it dosent look good and also have bad handeling. in use for a streaming mic it sound great and using a mic stand that is not connectet to my desk makes it perfect for me and also it's cheap. and i am considering doing the sm7b 3d print body, for dynamics and then use my v2, so it looks cooler

Sounds like you might have purposely overdone the palm muting to emphasize as point.
